If we look at April only, the computer sales increased by 40.9% between years and mobile phones sales increased by 68.7%. Sales of smaller electronics decreased by 1.1% and sales of larger electronics increased by 22.7% between years.
Icelanders are drinking less than a year ago
Alcohol sales decreased by 8% compared with April last year. Clothes and furniture sales were similar to last year when we compare the first 4 months of the years. But when we look at just April 2012 vs 2013, clothes sales increased by 5.5% and shoe sales by 1.7% Furniture sales increased by 13.2%. Office furniture sales increased by 46.1%.
Purchasing power and consumption did not change much between years. But credit card turnover increased by 5.5% from April 2012 to April 2013.
