Python on the loose in Iceland

The Icelandic Police is now looking for a huge python that seems to be kept somewhere in the city, illegally. A photo of the python has been on social media such as Facebook and Twitter.

The python is probably around 2 meters long and most likely kept in a house in the capital area. It's not sure if the animal is still alive.

The import of reptiles to Iceland is illegal. If such animals are found, they are immediately put down and destroyed, mostly due to risk of salmonella or other infections.

People with any information on the python are asked to contact the Police on 444-1000.
