Police effort against drugs - drug dealers arrested

The Icelandic Police has had to deal with many drug cases over the past few days. Cannabis growing seems to be a growing underground industry in Iceland these recent semesters and very many grow houses have been busted in the past couple of years.

A cannabis growing operation was busted in a private house in Garðabær (suburb of Reykjavik) two days ago and another one in an industry warehouse in Hafnarfjörður (suburb of Reykjavik), two days ago. Another one in Hafnarfjörður was busted yesterday. During all the busts, the police confiscated a large number of cannabis plants.

One drug dealer was arrested in Breiðholt (neighborhood in Reykjavik) and another in Hafnarfjörður, two days ago. Both cannabis plants and marijuana was confiscated as well as money that is believed to be profits from drug dealing.

During these operations, the police had to deal with many more potential drug dealers, all with drugs in their possession. All the individuals in the above matters are men, most of them in their twenties.
