Eli Roth Loves Iceland - VIDEO

Eli Roth is an American film director, producer, writer and actor. Roth is known for making low-budget horror films that are box office hits worldwide, the most famous being the movie Hostel. Roth is also an award-winning actor, most known for his role as Donny Donowitz in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds, for which he won both a SAG Award (Best Ensemble) and a BFCA Critic's Choice Award (Best Acting Ensemble).

Perlan or The Pearl is a landmark building in Reykjavík. It is 25.7 metres (84.3 ft) high. A lease was signed today where the Icelandic Museum of Natural History finally gets a permanent place. The standard exhibition from the museum will be displayed in the Pearl in the fall 2014.

A 12 year old Icelandic girl offered a young man sex in exchange for a car ride from Reykjavík to Keflavík. The conversation took place yesterday through Facebook chat.

Icelandic National Day, 17th of June is a holiday in Iceland and celebrates the day in 1944 that The Republic of Iceland (Lýðveldið Ísland) was formed. The date of 17 June was chosen because it is the birthday of Jón Sigurðsson, a major figure of Icelandic culture and the leader of the 19th century Icelandic independence movement.

Puffins

Puffins in Iceland

Iceland is home to one of the world's largest colonies of puffins. Over half of the world population of the Atlantic Puffin breeds in Iceland. It is estimated that around 3 million pairs breed in Iceland each year – that´s 6 million puffins but only 70% of the total are breeding birds. So the total population of puffins in Iceland is between 8 and 10 million birds.

The Penises of the Icelandic Handball Team

As most people remember, the Icelandic handball team won the silver medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. What fewer people know about, is the memorial about their success at the Icelandic Phallological Museum in Reykjavík. That's where a large silver sculpture representing the team is proudly displayed.

The owners of the Icelandic Phallus Museum recently got an offer for the museum from  German millionaire. The German offered a considerable amount of money, over 30 million ISK ($230,000, €180.000). This is not the first time that someone wishes to buy the remarkable Penis Museum.
