The Icelandic food and veterinary authority (MAST) in Iceland recently discovered that there was no meat in meat-pies from the Icelandic food company Gaedakokkar. They also found that labeling of Icelandic food products was not satisfactory in many cases.

She has for example received awards at the Best of Raw contest and was voted 'Favorite Raw Gourmet Chef' and 'Favorite Raw Simple Chef'.

Hamborgarafabrikkan (The hamburger factory) is on a list where the 11 best burger joints worldwide are announced. On the website they say that Hamborgarafabrikkan is known for the clever names of its burgers and for how delicious they taste.

Beer drinking has been legal in Iceland since 1989. Many Icelanders love drinking beer and many new Icelandic brands have been created in the last few years.
