Árstíðir (e. Seasons) is an Icelandic indie-folk band with classical, progressive rock and minimalist elements. The band formed in 2008 in Reykjavík. Árstíðir has released three albums to date.

Emiliana Torrini releases a new album
The famous Icelandic singer Emiliana Torrini announces on her fan page that she will release a new album this year. Her fans are thrilled! Her first album, Love in the Time of Science, came out in 1999. Her second album, Fisherman's Woman in 2005 and her latest, Me and Armini, in 2008.
Of Monsters and Men received the EBBA award
Yesterday the winners of the 2013 European Border Breakers Awards, celebrating border breaking talents in European pop music, received their EBBA awards in a televised ceremony hosted by TV personality and musician Jools Holland at Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen, Netherlands.
Deep Purple in Iceland this summer
The legendary rock band Deep Purple, will play in Reykjavik this summer on July 12th. This is the fourth time they perform in Iceland, but they have been sold out every time. Their first time in Iceland was in 1971, the second was 2004 and then 2007.
Sigurros played in 3000 cabs in New York
New York taxi drivers have a simple taste - they only listen to Sigurrós
At least for the next couple of weeks. Those who take a ride with the yellow cabs in Manhattan these days might hear familiar music. A part of the video with the song Varúð will be played on screens of 3000 taxis throughout the city, until the 5th of February. It is estimated that about 2 million passengers will get to hear Varúð during this time.

Unusual music act from Icelandic Klara Sól Sigurðardóttir has gotten deserved attention on facebook, but in the video you can hear and see Klara sing and play a cup she prepared herself, from noodle cups.

Icelandic singer and former Eurovision song contestant, Jóhanna Guðrún Jónsdóttir, also known as Yohanna, appeared on the Norwegian show "Beat for Beat", singing the song Songbird by Fleetwood Mac.
Arstidir receive the European Eiserner-Eversteiner Award 2012
Arstidir (Árstíðir) is an Icelandic indie-folk band formed in Reykjavik 2008. The band is going on a tour in Germany in 2013 and they just won the 21st Eiserner Eversteiner European Folk Music Award, the first Icelandic band to win this award.
