Around two o'clock today the police was informed about a serious diving accident at Silfra gap, which is a part of the Thingvallavatn lake at the Thingvellir national park.

One man lost conscience in the gap. At this moment no further information has been released about the status of the diver. The diver has been taken to a hospital.

Recently a new tour operator started operating sailing tours in the highlands of Iceland. The tour operator is called Hvitarvatn and sails on a glacier lake next to Langjokull glacier. They have a large boat that can carry up to 40 people at a time. The tour is usually combined with a bus tour and there are departures from the capital, Reykjavik city.
