Iceland was all over the newest Simpons episode which aired in the USA last night. Music from Sigur Rós as well as many famous landmarks like Hallgrímskirkja, Perlan (the Pearl) and the Blue Lagoon, appear on the show.

Departing prime minister of Iceland appeared on the Simpsons

"The Saga of Carl" is the 21th episode of season 24. It originally aired on May 19, 2013 alongside "Dangers on a Train" in a one hour season finale. The Icelandic band Sigur Rós guest-stared as themselves. The departing prime minister of Iceland, Johanna Sigurdardottir, also appeared in the episode.

Bollywood movie Brindavana to be shot in Iceland

The Times of India reports that one of the shooting schedules for the upcoming Kannada film Brindavana will be located at Iceland. The film's lead stars Darshan and Karthika Nair are heading there on May 21.

The Northern Lights Confucius Institute screens the film The Shaolin Temple (1982). The film, starring Jet Li in his debut role, is loosely based on a true story from Shaolin folklore and in the wake of its popularity inspired many to practice Shaolin kungfu.

In Memoriam shown in Bíó Paradís movie theater

The documentary, In Memoriam, will be shown in the cinema Bíó Paradís (Paradise Movie Theater) next Thursday night, April 25th at 8pm. The documentary is about the making of Kárahnjúkavirkjun power plant and its impact on the environment and the Icelandic fauna. There will be no entrance fee so everybody who is interested can see this documentary.
