Much excitement was in Iceland for for the Biggest Loser Iceland. The show received over 1300 applications but only 12 people were selected to participate in the show.

The Biggest Loser has been produced all over the world but the American version has been the biggest and most popular, with 14 seasons already made and season 15 on the way. The shows main trainers, Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels, have become world famous celebrities through the show and now run their own businesses, write books and so on.

Evert and Guðríður will be the Icelandic 'Bob and Jillian'

The Icelandic trainers are not less qualified for the job. Evert Víglundsson and Guðríður Erla Torfadóttir will train the twelve fatties and help them lose weight and adopt a new life lifestyle.

Evert has been training CrossFit for years and has twice been to the Reebok CrossFit Games. Before CrossFit he was a successful athlete and trainer. He is the head coach and co-owner at Reebok CrossFit Reykjavik with Anníe Thorisdottir. Through his work he has helped countless people, of all ages and in all shapes, live healthier and better lives. Guðríður Erla Torfadóttir has worked with people in different condition through the years. She had a course for overweight women but has also trained groups, both beginners and athletes. Today she trains CrossFit in Switzerland, people from 14-88 years old.

Both trainers have seen some of the American Biggest Loser shows and are looking forward to the project. They say that the project is more than the show though. The contestants spend seven months in training and have the opportunity to drastically change their lives for the better.

How will they get started?

First they have to meet the people and see how their condition is. They will take them for a walk and see how far they go. They will use perfect training facilities and give the contestants individualized programs.
