Potentially record high temperature in North Iceland today

The Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO) predicts that the temperature in North and East Iceland might go up to 24 degrees Celsius, 72.5 degrees Fahrenheit today, along with a clear sky. So North Iceland might get a new temperature record for this time of year.

Last night at 03:00 am, the temperature at Akureyri city, in North Iceland, was 14°C, 57.2° F, but that is usually the coldest time of the day. A police officer on duty at that time said that the weather was so good that he felt like he was abroad. It was very warm, no wind and the humidity was high said the officer. At six o'clock the temperature had risen, and he predicted a new record temperature at Akureyri city today, which is around 26°C, 78.8°F.

This morning the temperature at Hornbjarg was 19°C (66.2°F) and at Saudarkrokur town the temperature was 18°C (64.4°F).
