Icelandic PM complimented the Danish PM on her Danish skills
Mr. Gunnlaugsson complimented the Danish PM on her easily understandable Danish, but the Danish people are known for a difficult-to-understand accent, even for Icelanders that learn Danish for close to 8 years in school.
As usually in the Icelandic PM's recent meetings, he discussed economic affairs as well as the simplification of the taxation system in Iceland and the Icelandic Government's decision to stop EU negotiations.
Thorning-Schmidt said that she would like Iceland to join the European Union but stated that it was up to the Icelandic people to decide.
Why is China interested in Iceland?
Mr. Gunnlaugsson was at the press conference asked about China's interest in the Arctic and Iceland and said that the interest was natural and a reminder that the Nordic countries should be watchful.
