Hafþór competed in two events yesterday morning, after which he was sure to make it to the finals even though there is one more event left. Of the first 4 events (out of 5) Hafþór won two events and came second in two, in his group. It would even be ok for Hafþór to completely fail at the last event, but interestingly enough the last event is the Atlas Stones which Hafþór currently holds the world record in. So we can say that he's likely to win that event as well.
Following is a video, recorded by a spectator, of Hafþór winning the LOADING RACE:
Hafþór will compete in the finals on Friday and Saturday along with the 10 strongest men.
UPDATE - King of the Atlas Stones
Hafthor was crowned the King of the Atlas Stones a few hours ago as he won the event, the second consecutive year. Hafthor was the quickest of 30 contestants. He therefore finished his heat with three wins and two 2nd places.
