Icelandic table tennis legend, Guðmundur Stephensen, became a Dutch Table tennis Champion with his team Taverzo after defeating FVT Visser in the finals two days ago. Taverzo won FVT in the finals, 4 - 1.

Taekwondo: Fight for the gold at the Icelandic Championships 2013 - VIDEO

Margret Edda Gnarr, 24 years old, became the Icelandic champion in Taekwondo recently. She competed against the Nordic Champion of Iceland, Ingibjorg Erla, who landed in second place. Margret Edda was also selected the best female competitor of the tournament. Margret is the daughter of Jon Gnarr, the mayor of Reykjavik.

Boston Marathon bombing - Hallgrímur H. Gröndal was running in the marathon

35 Icelanders in the Boston Marathon

Deadly explosions took place in Boston earlier tonight, during the Boston marathon. Things are still becoming clearer but total chaos was and is around the marathon after the events. A total of three bombs are believed to have gone off. At least 35 Icelanders were registered in the Boston Marathon according to the marathon's website (baa.org/individual.html). Many more Icelanders were in the audience and cheering the runners on. At this time it is believed that no Icelanders were injured by the bombs.
