Jon Margeir Sverrisson with 7 gold medals in Sweden

Disabled swimmer, Jón Margeir Sverrisson competed at the Swedish Malmö Open Swimming Competition that took place this weekend. His achievement were outstanding.

He set a new Icelandic record for 50 meter front crawl, 25.43 seconds. He won both his group and both of the open groups and helped his them win the team competition. Jón Margeir won 7 gold medals in individual competitions and silver and bronze in relay swims.

Karen Axelsdóttir did very well and set two Icelandic records in 50 meter front crawl and 50 meter backstroke.

Jon Margeir Sverrisson also did very well at the Paralympics this summer in London when he won the gold medal and set a new world record of 1 minute 59.62 seconds.
