New Icelandic Tweeting Record - Eurovision - #12stig

As we reported HERE, the plan was to set a new Icelandic Tweeting record (through Twitter) in connection with the Eurovision Song Contest. The record was broken with over 25 thousand tweets from around 2500 people. That means about 10 tweets per person on average, using the hashtag #12stig. Never have more tweets been tweeted in Iceland around one event.

GEST Joins the UN University Network

A trilateral agreement between the University of Iceland, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Iceland and the UN Universities (UNU) was signed on 9 May 2013, formalising the Gender Equality Studies and Training Programme’s (GEST) membership in the UNU network. lso close ties with the Center for Women´s and Gender Research at the University of Iceland. It is hosted by the School of Humanities at the University of Iceland.
