Blafjoll Mountains, a skiing area just South of Reykjavik, opened at 10 am this morning and it will be open until 5 pm. There is enough snow on the tracks but not much snow outside of the tracks. There is a ski rental on site and a restaurant.

Látrabjarg, in Iceland, marks the westernmost part of Europe (excluding some of the Azores islands). The cliffs are home to millions of birds, including puffins, northern gannets, guillemots and razorbills. It is vital for their survival as it hosts up to 40% of the world population for some species e.g. the Razorbill. It is Europe's largest bird cliff, 14km long and up to 440m high.

The Golden Circle is a popular tourist route in South Iceland, covering about 300 km looping from Reykjavík into central Iceland and back. The three primary stops on the route are the national park Þingvellir, the waterfall Gullfoss (meaning "golden falls"), and the geothermally active valley of Haukadalur, which contains the geysers Geysir and Strokkur.

Minke whale hunting at Faxafloi bay has a large effect on whale watching tours. Now only one or two animals can be seen in each tour but a few years ago many more could be seen. A manager at a whale watching firm says that whale hunting ships should hunt somewhere else, because there is no shortage of whales around Iceland.
