It has been quite windy in Iceland these past couple of days and a continuing storm warning has been issued for tomorrow. Storm, over 20 m/s, is expected in various locations all over Iceland tomorrow. Some roads are also impassable because of snow.

The Search and Rescue team from Akureyri was called out around 2 o'clock last night to help rescue passengers from a bus that was stuck on Öxnadalsheiði mountain road, going to Akureyri. The road was impassable at the time.

The SAR team picked up the passengers and brought them safely to town. The driver however decided to stay in the bus and wait for the road to be cleaned so he could go on. The road is now open but slightly covered with snow.
