Google Streetview Camera Car caught speeding in Iceland Featured

Google had cars in Iceland last summer taking photos for Google Streetview. It has now been spotted on Google Streetview that the Google car with the cameras was speeding and going 69 km/h (43 mi/h) where the maximum legal speed is 50 km/h (31 mi/h).

Will the company be fined?

The Google Earth Streetview Camera Car was driving in Laugar in Northeast Iceland last fall when the roadside speedometer on site apparently caught the car speeding. Unfortunately these speedometers are just for guidance and don't contain a camera for example. It might therefor be less likely that the company will be fined for speeding, but some are furious on social media sites, demanding that Google is held responsible. We'll see about that. But at least the meter still showed them frowny face.
