Kayaker was saved as he drifted away from shore

Search and Rescue team Ársæll was called out yesterday when a kayaker was reported in trouble. He was located about 600 meters away from the south harbor in Seltjarnarnes, had lost his paddle and was quickly drifting away from shore.

The Icelandic Coast Guard also called for nearby fishing boats and one of them was first to the scene. Soon after the search&rescue boat Gróa P arrived and brought the man unharmed to shore.
