Guðbjörn Grímsson set a world record with the first official speed measured (87 km/h - 57 mph) on a 305 meter (1001 feet) long river in a extreme Formula Off-Road race in Iceland.
A 1600 hp twin turbo Nelson Racing engine did the job
Grimsson says that his literal off-road buggy is powered by a Nelson Racing 428 cubic inch Ford V8 that pumps 1640 hp through its paddle tires. To stay afloat, he needed to maintain a speed of 54 mph.
It’s no miracle, but a 4X4 truck cruising across the water is still pretty impressive.
