Holuhraun Volcano is the Most Dangerous Place in Iceland

The ongoing volcano in Holuhraun, Iceland is now the most dangerous place in the country. Not only is the  volcano erupting fire and stones all over the place, but molten lava is also flowing fast in all directions. On top of that life threatening sulfur dioxide (SO2) gas is swarming around the crater and traveling with the wind.

Warning! Mudflow, storm and rain!

We are so sorry. Once again the Icelandic Met Office is issuing weather warnings. Mudflows are possible in the Westfjords and Tröllaskagi peninsula in northern Iceland. Strong gusts by mountains and continuing rain is expected throughout the country, but fortunately the southwest should be mainly dry.
