Crossfit Open - WOD 14.4 finished - See how the Icelanders did

Week four of the 2014 Reebok CrossFit Open is officially over. Annie is 2nd in Europe and 2nd in the world. Bjork Odinsdottir is 6th in Europe and 47th in the world. Jakob Magnusson is 1st in Europe and 31st in the world and Frosti Gylfason is 8th in Europe and 44th in the world, Björgvin Karl Guðmundsson is 2nd in Europe and 48th in the world and Sigurður Þrastarson is 4th in Europe and 56th in the world. Many other Icelanders are doing very well. Check out the results.

The fourth workout if the CrossFit Open was:

14 minute AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible) of:
60 calorie row
50 toes-to-bars
40 wall balls shots, 20/14 lb, 10/9 foot target (9,1/6,4 kg, 3/2,7 m target)
30 cleans (135/95 lb (61/43 kg)
20 muscle-ups

Rich Froning, CrossFit Games champion 2011, 2012 and 2013, is still leading the men’s division in the world after winning this workout with 277 reps. Samantha Briggs, Crossfit Games champion 2013, is leading the woman’s division after also winning this workout with 256 reps. This is the second workout in Open 2014 that she wins.

Annie Thorisdottir vs. Samantha Briggs

Yesterday, at 5pm pacific-time, the final Open workout was announced live from San Francisco. This was the biggest event of the Open as five CrossFit Games champions competed and set the scores to beat. Three time CrossFit Games champion Rich Froning (2011, 2012 and 2013) took on Jason Khalipa (2008), Graham Holmberg (2010), reigning champion Samantha Briggs and two time champion Annie Thorisdottir (2011, 2012).


The final workout of the open (14.5) is for time:

21-18-15-12-9-6-3 reps of
Thrusters 95/65 lb (43/30 kg)
Burpees over the bar


Froning was the first to finish in 8:26 and Sam Briggs was right behind him in 8:31. Annie finished in 11:05.
