A thirty year old tourist fell down a crack at Thingvellir National Park in Iceland earlier today. Snow had covered the crack and the man fell through the snow and down the crack. The man was traveling with a group of tourists.
The crack was around 5 to 6 meter deep. Sources say that the man was not badly injured, and he could talk to people above him while he was trapped. He had to wait for around 30 minutes before rescue teams came.
A rescue worker used a rope to go down the crack and save the man. Around 25 people assisted in the rescue which took around one hour.
